What you will do
- Define and build the design system, including tokens, primitives, patterns, theming, accessibility standards, and documentation.
- Develop frontend platform primitives such as the application shell, routing conventions, authentication and session handling, typed API clients, data-fetching patterns, forms, tables, and state management.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to improve platform adoption through intuitive APIs, office hours, RFCs, and migration guides.
- Own the Next.js build pipeline, bundle size, Core Web Vitals, client-side logging, error tracking, feature flags, and experimentation infrastructure.
- Guide rendering, caching, code-splitting, build-versus-buy, multi-application, and monorepo architecture decisions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production web applications.
- Experience owning or substantially contributing to a design system or component library used by multiple product teams.
- Deep proficiency with React and TypeScript, plus strong Next.js experience including App Router, React Server Components, and rendering trade-offs.
- Ability to design stable component APIs, hooks, and contracts that support rapid product iteration.
- Experience with frontend performance, observability tools such as Sentry or Datadog, bundle analysis, large-scale migrations, and production releases.
- Strong ownership of developer experience, platform leverage, and long-term technical outcomes.
