TL;DR

Location: Fully remote, with the role listed in Hawthorne, California; some travel may be required.

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

  • Define rover and subsystem control-system requirements with stakeholders.
  • Design, analyze, develop, tune, verify, and validate vehicle and robotic control systems.
  • Build and mature controller simulations using Matlab, Simulink, Python, and equivalent tools.
  • Prototype controllers and analyze performance, stability, and robustness using simulations, testbeds, and test data.
  • Support sizing and selection of sensors, cameras, motor encoders, motors, actuators, and other integrated control-system components.
  • Convert controller prototypes into flight code, support unit and integrated testing, and calibrate integrated hardware and robotic control systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field.
  • 5+ years of robotic control-system development experience.
  • Experience building, testing, and validating control-system simulation and analysis tools.
  • Experience analyzing and tuning robotic control-system performance.
  • Experience with flight-like hardware testbeds and Matlab/Simulink or equivalent control-system design and analysis software.
