Software Product Team Lead | Digital Ops (Aerospace)

Location: South Burlington, Vermont, United States; primarily office-based with potential hybrid work arrangements.

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 USD per year, plus restricted and performance stock units.

What you will do

• Define the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for engineering tools and libraries.
• Lead discovery with systems engineers, flight test engineers, maintainers, and other technical users.
• Prioritize competing demands and communicate team objectives and capabilities to stakeholders.
• Lead, coach, develop, and hire team members through feedback, career development, and regular 1:1s.
• Partner with the technical lead on architecture and technical strategy while contributing through code reviews, prototypes, and technical problem-solving.
• Build tools for high-performance I/O, real-time data visualization and verification, third-party integrations, aircraft configuration, inspections, and software flashing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building tools, libraries, or infrastructure for technical users.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with product strategy, user research, outcome-driven prioritization, and stakeholder management.
• Experience leading people and balancing strategic thinking with hands-on technical execution.
• Strong written and verbal communication, technical credibility, autonomy, and accountability.

Nice to have

• Experience in aviation or aerospace and familiarity with aircraft systems and operations.
• Experience with real-time data systems, instrumentation, embedded systems communication protocols such as CAN or ARINC, and data visualization.
• Strong expertise in Python and C++ for high-performance systems and user-facing tools.
• Experience packaging, distributing, and supporting customer-facing tools at scale, including open-source licensing and compliance.
• Experience scaling small teams and working with developer tools, configuration management, or internal tooling adoption and ROI.
