Senior Account Executive (Cybersecurity)

Location: U.S.-based role. Hybrid candidates must live within commuting distance of the New York, NY or San Francisco, CA offices and work in-office three days per week. Fully remote roles are available only to candidates residing in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. at the time of hire.

Salary: $63,000–$90,000 per year, based on experience, skills, education, internal equity, and local market data.

What you will do

• Lead tactical execution of cybersecurity PR programs, including media relations, analyst engagement, thought leadership, speaking, and content.
• Manage client calls, provide strategic counsel, and oversee projects, deliverables, budgets, and resources.
• Develop campaign plans based on cybersecurity trends, breaking news, regulatory developments, and creative narrative opportunities.
• Build media and influencer relationships, create proactive pitches, and increase client visibility through digital and social channels.
• Write and edit press releases, thought leadership articles, contributed content, speaking abstracts, award nominations, briefings, and media materials.
• Measure campaign outcomes, refine strategies using analytics, collaborate with AI, design, content, and social teams, and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of PR or communications experience in an agency setting.
• Direct experience with cybersecurity clients or within the security industry.
• Existing relationships with at least 10 business, technology, trade, or cybersecurity reporters.
• Ability to understand complex cybersecurity topics and translate them into compelling media narratives.
• Strong writing, editing, client communication, project management, analytics, and reporting skills.
• Must reside in an approved U.S. state at the time of hire; hybrid work requires regular office attendance near New York or San Francisco.
