TL;DR

What you will do

  • Design, implement, and optimize embedded control stacks for general-purpose robots.
  • Develop motion planning and trajectory optimization algorithms for dynamic locomotion and manipulation.
  • Build real-time state estimation pipelines for pose, contact, and force sensing by fusing heterogeneous sensor data under noise and uncertainty.
  • Formulate and solve optimal control problems, including nonlinear MPC, convex optimization, and trajectory optimization.
  • Build modular software frameworks that support rapid iteration between simulation and physical hardware.
  • Lead controller debugging, tuning, and validation directly on physical robots.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and deploying advanced control algorithms on real robotic products.
  • Demonstrated excellence in control systems engineering.
  • Deep expertise in dynamics, kinematics, optimal control, and state estimation.
  • Strong command of hardware interfaces, IMUs, force/torque sensors, motors, gearboxes, and drivers.
  • Production-level mastery of C++ and experience building reliable, safety-critical software.
  • Ability to bridge hardware, software, and algorithms to deliver robust end-to-end systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience shipping humanoid robots or whole-body control systems.
  • Published work in control theory, state estimation, or mathematical optimization.
  • Familiarity with GPU parallel computation for accelerating optimization.
  • Open-mindedness about deep learning, reinforcement learning, and vision-language-action models in general-purpose robotics.
