Salary: $120,000–$170,000 USD per year

What you will do
- Plan, coordinate, and execute safety assessment activities for aircraft systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with product design teams to improve safety, reliability, and certifiability.
- Establish failure rates for system components without prior aviation application history.
- Perform certification and continued operational safety assessments for new and in-service products.
- Work with regulators and present safety analyses to support compliance with aviation requirements.
- Mentor junior safety engineers and collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering teams.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
- 5+ years of systems safety assessment experience for commercial aviation applications using ARP4754A and SAE ARP4761.
- Experience with FHA, FTA, PSSA, SSA, ZSA, PRA, CMA, and FMEA.
- Experience allocating Development Assurance Levels under ARP4754A and generating, validating, and verifying safety requirements.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
- Ability to work with aircraft system architectures, design optimization, safety, and reliability concepts.
Nice to have
- 10+ years of commercial aviation systems safety experience and multiple full certification cycles across Parts 23, 25, 27, or 33.
- Experience with electric aircraft, FAA safety specialists, aircraft modifications, AEH and software, HIRF, lightning, or ASTM safety practices.
- Experience with CAFTA, MSG-3, failure reporting and corrective action systems, or Polarion.
- Systems engineering background.
