Security Engineer

Location: New York City, United States; on-site

Salary: $200,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Design and implement security controls across applications, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Protect confidential legal and customer data through secure systems and processes.
• Establish secure development practices, including code reviews, threat modeling, and vulnerability management.
• Build monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes for security threats.
• Support SOC 2 and other security and compliance activities, including documentation, controls, and audits.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to embed security throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of application security, cloud security, and common vulnerability classes.
• Experience securing production systems, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or Go.
• Experience with security tooling, monitoring systems, and incident response workflows.
• Ability to prioritize risks, work independently in ambiguous environments, and communicate clearly with engineering, product, and leadership teams.
