Senior/Staff Software Engineer, C++

Location: Onsite at the Santa Clara, California office

Salary: $180,000–$260,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, implement, integrate, and support real-time, mission-critical software for the autonomy stack.
• Partner with research engineers to create maintainable, testable, and robust software designs.
• Architect solutions for complex issues across components of a large software stack.
• Guide software development lifecycle practices and contribute to safety improvements in the core autonomy stack.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure and DevOps teams on secure, scalable software delivery for the autonomous fleet.
• Mentor autonomy researchers and algorithm developers, review technical designs and code, and optimize compute and memory usage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience in a production environment.
• Expert-level C++ development experience and proficiency with Conan, CMake, and Bazel.
• Strong system integration, software architecture, and large-scale software infrastructure experience.
• Background in linear or nonlinear optimization, linear algebra, or statistics.
• Experience with software project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of planning and prediction modules in an autonomous vehicle stack.
• Experience with ROS2 and PyTorch.
• Experience integrating and deploying AI models.
• Master’s or PhD degree.
