Senior Software Engineer, Mapping & Localization (C++)

Salary: $145,000–$190,000 per year, excluding equity

What you will do

• Develop and deploy large-scale map systems in Python and C++, including offline map management and online map loading.
• Build efficient runtime map query interfaces for perception, prediction, and planning modules.
• Improve online mapping and localization watchdogs, event-mining systems, and CI infrastructure.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with perception, prediction, planning, control, simulation, and data infrastructure teams.
• Coordinate with operations on data collection, preprocessing, labeling, testing, and analysis requirements.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in C++ and experience designing and implementing large real-time C++ systems and infrastructure.
• Clear understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with offline large-scale map management and deployment.
• Familiarity with creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; self-motivated and comfortable working without direct supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience with online multi-tile, large-scale real-time map loading.
• Experience developing and testing localization algorithms such as LiDAR/Visual SLAM and Kalman filtering.
• Experience with deep-learning perception systems, including spatial transformers, attention mechanisms, and object or lane detection and tracking.
