Product Marketing Manager (Optical Systems)

Location: Irvine, California, United States. The position operates in an office and/or laboratory/manufacturing environment, with up to 30% travel. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available. Some duties may require U.S. person status under ITAR or EAR regulations.

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 per year, plus a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Bring a new business segment online and own team, product, and product-line success.
• Define market requirements, product strategies, roadmaps, pricing, and lifecycle plans.
• Develop business plans and structured product marketing plans for new markets.
• Conduct market research, monitor competitors, and identify customer needs and growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, supply chain, and sales on product and product-line development.
• Act as a technical advisor for assigned optical and laser technology products and support personnel development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; a master’s degree in science, engineering, or another technical discipline is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or business leadership in a technology-driven environment.
• 3+ years of experience with optical systems or laser technologies.
• Experience defining and executing product strategies, roadmaps, lifecycle management, market research, competitive analysis, and pricing strategies.
• Strong business acumen, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-influence skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a science, engineering, or technical discipline.
• Experience acting as a technical advisor for product lines and engaging with key customers.
