Senior Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: US Remote - Jersey City, NJ. Remote or hybrid work is available; candidates living within a one-hour commute of a hirify.global office must work onsite most of the time. hirify.global uses e-Verify to validate legal authorization to work in the United States.

Salary: $140,000-$200,000 per year, with potential eligibility for bonuses, commissions, or other compensation.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate internal platforms, CI/CD pipelines, developer environments, deployment workflows, and shared services.
• Create automation and self-service tooling that reduces repetitive, error-prone, and slow engineering workflows.
• Prototype and productionize AI-assisted tools, including LLM-powered code modification, migration automation, and agentic operational workflows.
• Improve cloud and container foundations across Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, networking, observability, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Own ambiguous platform initiatives from discovery through design, implementation, rollout, and adoption.
• Define platform success metrics, write design documents, and collaborate with product teams to drive adoption and improve engineering practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building, shipping, and operating production software, including platform, infrastructure, developer experience, or related work.
• Strong software generalist and systems knowledge across backend services, automation pipelines, infrastructure, and internal tools.
• Fluency in a modern platform language such as Python or TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS, containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and modern CI/CD systems.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs or agent-based automation into production engineering workflows.
• Ability to own operations from design through deployment and on-call, communicate clearly, and work effectively through ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Experience with developer portals, service catalogs, or fleet and dependency management systems.
• Experience leading large-scale code migration or modernization efforts.
• Familiarity with evaluation and observability practices for AI-powered systems.
