Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Java)

Location: Prague, Czech Republic; primarily in-office work from the Prague office is required.

What you will do

• Own REST API infrastructure, including versioned specifications, engineering workflows, automation, and API SDK productization.
• Architect, build, and optimize high-throughput Java and Spring middleware that unifies FlashArray and FlashBlade management.
• Deliver features across API design, CLI and GUI integration, debugging, refactoring, and release deployment.
• Modernize core codebases, improve scalability, and optimize performance under high load.
• Mentor engineers across the Java ecosystem, establish code quality standards, and provide technical guidance through cross-team office hours.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in core Java and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Hibernate, and jOOQ.
• Experience leading and delivering medium-to-large backend engineering projects in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs, CLI tools, middleware services, data structures, concurrency, and system design.
• Ability to learn and work across multiple languages such as Python, Go, or C++.
• Understanding of cloud-native paradigms, container orchestration, or Linux system internals.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills for collaboration across global engineering teams.
