Staff Research Engineer (AI/ML Animation)

Location: Culver City, California, United States. Candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.

Annual base salary: $180,000–$205,000, plus a 13% annual bonus target.

What you will do

• Lead fundamental theory, principles, and algorithm development for AI/ML-based 3D CG animation and visualization.
• Develop next-generation photorealistic 3D CG animation technologies and content for future businesses and services.
• Define technical requirements and collaborate with professional creators and research scientists.
• Analyze, benchmark, validate, and develop complex algorithms and efficient 3D content-creation workflows.
• Contribute to new initiatives, project strategy, business-creation plans, and documentation across the R&D lifecycle.
• Oversee invention disclosures and work with patent attorneys to secure intellectual property.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Solid publication record in AI/ML-based 3D CG animation algorithm research, especially facial animation, hair, or garment modeling and simulation.
• 4+ years of industry experience, preferably in 3D computer graphics.
• Highly proficient with Unreal Engine, MetaHuman, Maya, or related CG platforms.
• Excellent communication skills and strong ethical conduct.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
