Manufacturing CAD & Development Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; on-site

Company

Orbitworks, building on hirify.global's heritage, is developing commercial satellite manufacturing capabilities in the United Arab Emirates to produce tens of satellites annually.

What you will do

• Develop and sustain manufacturing processes for satellite assembly, integration, test, and launch activities.
• Design, analyze, release, and maintain manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and ground support equipment using CAD tools.
• Review spacecraft designs and manufacturing methods to identify risks and improve Design for Excellence outcomes.
• Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, manufacturing documentation, and equipment operating manuals.
• Investigate manufacturing and tooling issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, facilities, production, and technicians to improve manufacturing readiness, quality, safety, and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience designing tooling, fixtures, mechanical equipment, or manufacturing support hardware with CAD software.
• Proficiency with one or more CAD platforms, such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA, or AutoCAD.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, machining methods, and material selection.
• Experience creating technical documentation, work instructions, manufacturing procedures, or operating instructions.
• Strong problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, hands-on engineering, ownership, and written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, satellite, defense, automotive, robotics, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting Assembly, Integration & Test operations and environmental testing.
• Knowledge of NASA, ECSS, ISO, MIL, IPC, J-STD, or ESD requirements.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, MES, ERP, PFMEA, process validation, risk assessment, or manufacturing readiness review experience.
• Experience with robotics, industrial automation, lifting operations, rigging, cranes, forklifts, or manufacturing support equipment.
