TL;DR
Machine Service Technician (Additive Manufacturing): Maintaining and troubleshooting additive metal printing systems in an operations shop floor environment with an accent on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and fiber laser systems. Focus on planning preventative maintenance, minimizing equipment downtime, supporting machine installation, and resolving complex system issues during the weekday night shift.

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; onsite weekday night shift. The shift runs Monday through Wednesday and every other Thursday, from 6:00 pm to 6:30 am.

Hourly pay: Level 1 $24.72–$33.99; Level 2 $28.12–$38.67; Level 3 $32.60–$44.83, plus a 10% differential for applicable non-standard shifts.

What you will do

  • Plan and schedule preventative maintenance for additive metal printers across the facility.
  • Maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and fiber laser systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and prioritize repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Machine Build, and Engineering to resolve issues.
  • Assist with installing production equipment and machines.
  • Update maintenance plans, provide project status reports, and follow Environmental Health and Safety procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of job-related experience in industrial machine service, machine building, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with electromechanical and pneumatic assemblies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical blueprints and work with close tolerances.
  • Ability to work onsite in a 24/7/365 manufacturing operation and during the specified weekday night shift.

Nice to have

  • Four or more years of experience building automated equipment.
  • Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with wiring, crimping, soldering, and ESD protection.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, design techniques, and standard and metric measurement systems.
