Director, Communications (Fintech)

Location: On-site in Vancouver, BC, Canada

Total compensation: CA$200,000–CA$350,000 per year, including base salary, variable bonus where applicable, and equity options.

What you will do

• Own hirify.global’s communications strategy across public relations, corporate communications, executive communications, social media, and internal communications.
• Define the company narrative, messaging architecture, and brand voice across internal and external channels.
• Advise leadership on reputation management, media positioning, executive visibility, and thought leadership.
• Build relationships with journalists, influencers, media outlets, and external partners to generate earned coverage.
• Develop communications campaigns for product launches, partnerships, funding announcements, company milestones, and strategic initiatives.
• Build scalable communications processes, frameworks, and measurement systems while partnering with marketing, growth, product, design, legal, and leadership teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in communications, public relations, corporate communications, brand storytelling, or content strategy.
• Experience leading and scaling communications functions in fast-paced, high-growth environments, ideally in fintech, marketplaces, SaaS, venture-backed startups, or technology companies.
• Exceptional storytelling, writing, and editorial skills, including the ability to simplify complex financial and marketplace concepts.
• Strong experience with media relations, executive communications, thought leadership, crisis communications, and reputation management.
• Experience advising executive leadership and working cross-functionally across marketing, product, growth, legal, and leadership teams.
• Ability to work strategically and hands-on, operate in ambiguity, and build communications programs and infrastructure from the ground up.

• Relationships with fintech, venture capital, startup, or business media.
• Experience with founder-led or executive-led brand building.
• Familiarity with private markets, secondary markets, venture capital, or startup ecosystems.
• Experience in regulated or highly scrutinized industries.
• Experience managing agencies, contractors, or small in-house communications teams.
