Senior Engineer Manufacturing (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Ennis, Ireland. Shift-based position covering the weekend cycle; working pattern is Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30. Travel time: 0%–25%.

What you will do

• Lead and support projects involving high-reliability screening operations, including High Temperature Reverse Bias (HTRB), burn-in, and electrical test and screening methodologies.
• Own product and process definition through part requirement analysis, test-flow selection, electrical screening, and sampling operations.
• Partner with site engineers on equipment appraisal and qualification, process standardization, quality improvement, and Environmental, Health and Safety enhancements.
• Provide technical direction on product disposition through screening and sampling process steps.
• Drive data analysis, statistical process control, root-cause and corrective-action activities, and continuous improvement of yield, quality, throughput, and cost of ownership.
• Create and maintain test flows, specifications, process controls, and other product and process documentation while developing automation and technical solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Engineering or Physics; Electronic or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and semiconductor device behavior.
• Ability to learn, retain, and apply detailed product and process knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional project teams and independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Office.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, eager to develop new skills, team-oriented, and committed to demonstrating Microchip values and culture.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, DOE, DMAIC, FMEA, or SPC methodologies.
• Familiarity with semiconductor device physics, discrete power devices such as diodes and bipolar transistors, or ATE and electrical test environments.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, or Excel analytics.
