Senior R&D Manager (Peripheral Vascular Health)

Location: Galway, County Galway, Ireland; hybrid with 4 days per week onsite and up to 25% domestic or international travel.

Salary: EUR 102,720–154,080 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Lead the R&D engineering team in Galway and execute critical medical device development projects.
• Plan, direct, and implement design and development activities from initial concept through market release.
• Oversee technology investigations, feasibility studies, new methodologies, materials, and product concepts.
• Maintain R&D documentation and coordinate activities with suppliers and consultants to support timely delivery.
• Build a high-performing team through recruitment, performance management, coaching, mentoring, and career development.
• Champion Voice of Customer inputs, early risk burn-down, and Design for Reliability and Manufacturability practices.

Requirements

• Level 8 degree in Engineering or a related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience managing engineers, including one-to-ones, performance reviews, recruitment, disciplinary processes, and career development.
• Experience across the full product development lifecycle, from concept development to product launch.
• Experience in the medical device market with a proven results-driven record of accomplishment.
• Ability to work effectively and proactively with local and global cross-functional managers.
• Ability to act as a dynamic team player and influencer.
