Lead Mechanical Engineer (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Hybrid, Cork, Ireland; openness to travel to equipment manufacturing sites required.

What you will do

• Coordinate the mechanical design team to achieve project deliverables.
• Own equipment modules and packages through design and procurement, including data sheets, material requisitions, enquiry packages, technical specifications, and bid evaluations.
• Develop equipment packages through kick-off meetings, design reviews, and factory acceptance tests.
• Manage suppliers to ensure packages are designed, manufactured, and tested according to project requirements.
• Interface with clients, vendors, client project management, end users, and other disciplines.
• Provide mechanical optimization and site support while delivering the agreed design scope within budget hours and schedule.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering; candidates with a primary degree in Chemical or Process Engineering may also be considered if they have relevant process experience.
• 10+ years of design experience in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors.
• Experience in the design and package management of process equipment on API, Fill Finish, or Biopharma projects.
• Ability to coordinate the efforts of others as a self-starter.
• Good communication skills and the ability to lead technical reviews with clients and suppliers.
• Openness to travel to locations where equipment is being manufactured.
