Senior PCIe Hardware System Engineer

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end triage, failure analysis, and root-cause investigations for complex PCIe Gen5/Gen6 and NVMe system issues.
• Act as the primary technical interface at Taiwan-based vendor and customer facilities, collaborating with JDM/ODM partners, SSD suppliers, and flash-controller partners.
• Guide PCIe, NVMe, and SMBus validation plans for chip bring-up and regression testing throughout the development lifecycle.
• Use Python scripting and AI-enabled automation tools to improve issue triage and hardware validation efficiency.
• Provide local engineering ownership across time zones, mitigate technical risks, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in advanced interface debugging, root-cause analysis, and system-level solution development in enterprise server or SSD environments.
• Deep expertise in host, PCIe, and CXL interactions, including hands-on PCIe Gen5/Gen6 validation.
• Experience with PCIe protocol analyzers, exercisers, jammers, I2C/SMBus tools, Linux, and Python test automation.
• Strong hardware-firmware debugging skills, including NVMe features, SSD firmware behavior, and PCIe LTSSM states.
• Exceptional bilingual Mandarin and English communication skills are required.
• Regular work from the Taiwan office is required except during PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
