AI Backend Engineer (Django)

What you will do

• Build and maintain production backend services with Python and Django.
• Contribute to React applications using modern component patterns and hooks.
• Deliver features end to end, from concept and implementation through deployment and iteration.
• Use AI tools and develop AI-driven solutions to automate development and repetitive work.
• Collaborate on system design, architecture, production reliability, AWS infrastructure, and Kubernetes deployments.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and take ownership of stable production services.

Requirements

• At least six years of professional software engineering experience with production systems.
• Production experience with Python and Django.
• Strong experience with either JavaScript and React, including hooks and component architecture, or Kubernetes and production-grade container deployments.
• Experience with AWS, cloud environments, API design, data modeling, and system-level thinking.
• Ability to make independent technical decisions, work in complex codebases, and take responsibility for outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proactive ownership approach.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI-powered products or integrations, including LLM features, agents, or automation tools.
• Startup or founder experience.
• Experience working in fast-moving teams with lightweight processes.
