What you will do
- Lead personnel assignments and priorities across Stress Analysis, Loads & Dynamics, and Structural Verification/Test.
- Develop staffing strategies covering workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, retention, succession planning, cross-training, and employee development.
- Manage labor forecasts, staffing plans, budgets, resource estimates, schedules, and multi-program resource demands.
- Partner with program managers, chief engineers, and functional leaders to resolve resource conflicts and manage technical and schedule risks.
- Establish workflows, standards, review gates, checklists, reporting expectations, and configuration-control practices.
- Track quality, productivity, staffing, review, and delivery metrics; conduct audits and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural, or a related engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of engineering experience, including structural analysis, loads and dynamics, structural testing and verification, and mechanical analysis.
- 3+ years leading engineering teams, technical organizations, or functional groups.
- Experience with finite element modeling, dynamics analysis, test correlation, and automation using Nastran, FEMAP, Simcenter 3D, MATLAB, Python, or equivalent tools.
- Experience managing staffing plans, budgets, schedules, priorities, and multi-program resources, as well as engineering quality procedures and technical standards.
- Access to export-controlled technical data may require additional U.S. export-control screening under NASA, ITAR, or EAR regulations. Evening and weekend work may be required for critical project milestones.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
- PMP certification.
- Experience supporting human spaceflight programs and familiarity with NASA standards and requirements.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary structural analysis organizations and working with configuration-management and engineering quality systems.
