TL;DR

What you will do

  • Lead personnel assignments and priorities across Stress Analysis, Loads & Dynamics, and Structural Verification/Test.
  • Develop staffing strategies covering workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, retention, succession planning, cross-training, and employee development.
  • Manage labor forecasts, staffing plans, budgets, resource estimates, schedules, and multi-program resource demands.
  • Partner with program managers, chief engineers, and functional leaders to resolve resource conflicts and manage technical and schedule risks.
  • Establish workflows, standards, review gates, checklists, reporting expectations, and configuration-control practices.
  • Track quality, productivity, staffing, review, and delivery metrics; conduct audits and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience, including structural analysis, loads and dynamics, structural testing and verification, and mechanical analysis.
  • 3+ years leading engineering teams, technical organizations, or functional groups.
  • Experience with finite element modeling, dynamics analysis, test correlation, and automation using Nastran, FEMAP, Simcenter 3D, MATLAB, Python, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience managing staffing plans, budgets, schedules, priorities, and multi-program resources, as well as engineering quality procedures and technical standards.
  • Access to export-controlled technical data may require additional U.S. export-control screening under NASA, ITAR, or EAR regulations. Evening and weekend work may be required for critical project milestones.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience supporting human spaceflight programs and familiarity with NASA standards and requirements.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary structural analysis organizations and working with configuration-management and engineering quality systems.
