TL;DR
Senior Data Engineering Expert (Azure/Databricks): Designing and modernizing enterprise-scale data platforms and integration ecosystems for airline commercial, digital, customer, and operational functions with an accent on cloud-native Lakehouse architectures, batch and real-time pipelines, and data governance. Focus on building scalable Spark and Scala processing platforms, implementing Master Data Management, and leading enterprise data modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.

What you will do
- Define and implement enterprise data architecture strategies for commercial, digital, customer, and operational functions.
- Design and modernize scalable cloud-native Lakehouse platforms supporting analytics, reporting, machine learning, and operational decision-making.
- Architect batch and real-time ingestion, transformation, and serving layers using enterprise integration patterns, APIs, event-driven architectures, and messaging technologies.
- Implement data quality, reconciliation, lineage, metadata management, observability, monitoring, and operational automation.
- Establish Master Data Management strategies covering customers, flights, airports, aircraft, crew, and enterprise reference data.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor engineering and architecture professionals, and collaborate with product owners, airline operations teams, enterprise architects, and executives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in data engineering, data architecture, data platform engineering, or enterprise data management.
- Strong experience designing cloud-based data architectures with Microsoft Azure and Databricks Lakehouse.
- Hands-on expertise with Apache Spark, Scala, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, ETL/ELT frameworks, orchestration, data warehousing, database design, SQL optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with enterprise data integration, Master Data Management, metadata governance, data stewardship, golden records, data quality, lineage, observability, security, privacy, compliance, and governance.
- Proven ability to lead teams, mentor technical professionals, define architecture standards, and drive enterprise modernization initiatives.
Nice to have
- Airline industry experience with Passenger Service Systems, Revenue Management, Loyalty Platforms, CRM, CDP, Digital Commerce, or Customer Experience solutions.
- Experience supporting artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, or personalization initiatives.
- Exposure to Data Mesh, Data Fabric, domain-oriented data architectures, or large-scale enterprise transformation programs.
- Relevant Microsoft Azure, Databricks, data engineering, cloud architecture, or enterprise data management certifications.
