What you will do

  • Lead personnel assignments, priorities, and resource allocation across multiple programs and technical disciplines.
  • Develop staffing strategies covering workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, retention, succession planning, cross-training, and employee development.
  • Manage labor forecasts, staffing plans, budgets, estimates, schedules, and competing program demands.
  • Partner with program managers, chief engineers, and functional leaders to resolve resource conflicts and technical or schedule risks.
  • Establish workflows, review gates, standards, checklists, reporting expectations, and configuration-control practices for thermal fluids analysis.
  • Develop technical capabilities, analysis methods, software tools, automation solutions, metrics, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience in thermal analysis, fluid systems, heat transfer, computational fluid dynamics, and thermal verification and testing.
  • 3+ years leading engineering teams, technical organizations, or functional groups, including personnel development and resource planning.
  • Experience with tools such as Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM, MATLAB, Python, or equivalent.
  • Experience managing staffing plans, budgets, schedules, priorities, workflows, quality procedures, technical standards, and deliverables.
  • Access to export-controlled technical data may require U.S. export-control screening under NASA, ITAR, or EAR regulations. Willingness to work evenings and weekends when required by critical project milestones is also required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related engineering discipline.
  • PMP certification and experience with human spaceflight programs, NASA standards, or engineering quality systems.
  • Experience with thermal vacuum testing, fluid systems testing, model correlation, verification, and multidisciplinary thermal-fluid organizations.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft thermal control, ECLSS, propulsion fluid, cryogenic, or other aerospace thermal-fluid systems.
