What you will do
- Lead personnel assignments, priorities, and resource allocation across multiple programs and technical disciplines.
- Develop staffing strategies covering workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, retention, succession planning, cross-training, and employee development.
- Manage labor forecasts, staffing plans, budgets, estimates, schedules, and competing program demands.
- Partner with program managers, chief engineers, and functional leaders to resolve resource conflicts and technical or schedule risks.
- Establish workflows, review gates, standards, checklists, reporting expectations, and configuration-control practices for thermal fluids analysis.
- Develop technical capabilities, analysis methods, software tools, automation solutions, metrics, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, or a related engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of engineering experience in thermal analysis, fluid systems, heat transfer, computational fluid dynamics, and thermal verification and testing.
- 3+ years leading engineering teams, technical organizations, or functional groups, including personnel development and resource planning.
- Experience with tools such as Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM, MATLAB, Python, or equivalent.
- Experience managing staffing plans, budgets, schedules, priorities, workflows, quality procedures, technical standards, and deliverables.
- Access to export-controlled technical data may require U.S. export-control screening under NASA, ITAR, or EAR regulations. Willingness to work evenings and weekends when required by critical project milestones is also required.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related engineering discipline.
- PMP certification and experience with human spaceflight programs, NASA standards, or engineering quality systems.
- Experience with thermal vacuum testing, fluid systems testing, model correlation, verification, and multidisciplinary thermal-fluid organizations.
- Familiarity with spacecraft thermal control, ECLSS, propulsion fluid, cryogenic, or other aerospace thermal-fluid systems.
