Manufacturing Technician I (Biological Reagents)

Location: Onsite at 1701 Research Blvd, Rockville, MD 20850, USA

Salary: $39,600–$57,500 annual base salary, with potential discretionary or non-discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Operate automated equipment to produce biological assays, coated plates, chemical buffers, biological diluents, reagents, and assembled kits.
• Complete production documentation, data capture, forms, logbooks, and inventory batch records.
• Perform daily maintenance and documentation for production equipment, including basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, supplies, equipment, and physical inventories through processing, aliquoting, vialing, and labeling materials.
• Support process improvement, assay and process development, custom or prototype customer requests, and year-end physical inventory.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements; occasional handling of BSL2 reagents may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to learn and follow standard laboratory techniques, safety precautions, software applications, and production procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude, equipment troubleshooting ability, and understanding of scientific fundamentals.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including communicating issues and results affecting timelines, accuracy, and data reliability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to multitask in a demanding manufacturing environment with changing priorities.
• Ability to communicate, use required equipment, frequently lift up to 50 pounds, and spend up to 80% of the day at a laboratory bench or in a cleanroom.

Nice to have

• Degree in biology, chemistry, biotechnology, engineering, or a related field.
• Prior manufacturing experience.
• Experience with MRP/ERP, JDE systems, cGMP, or ISO certification.
