Senior Engineering Manager, SSD Firmware

Location: Taipei City, Taiwan; primarily in-office at the Taiwan office

What you will do

• Define and execute the DFM firmware strategy, long-term roadmap, and feature priorities aligned with performance, cost, and reliability goals.
• Lead the design and delivery of high-performance firmware for PCIe functionality, NAND media management, and low-level hardware interfaces.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of PCIe- and NAND-related firmware features from planning through production release.
• Own PCIe bring-up and hardware integration, including link performance, LTSSM, power management, hot-plug support, and error handling.
• Lead system-level debugging across firmware, drivers, and hardware while establishing diagnostics, logging, and root-cause methodologies.
• Mentor firmware engineers and develop a high-performance team through Agile planning, backlog management, feedback, and technical guidance.

Requirements

• Proven technical leadership in embedded software development or firmware management for complex, high-performance systems.
• Extensive hands-on expertise in embedded system architecture, firmware design, and C/C++.
• Strong understanding of hardware-software interfaces, storage technologies, SSD controllers, or NAND flash media management.
• Experience managing the full product development cycle using Agile or Scrum, including scope, dependencies, risks, and delivery schedules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with Hardware, Software, and Executive stakeholders.
• Ability to work primarily from the Taiwan office, except during approved time off, work travel, or other approved leave.
