Senior Technical Staff Engineer-Applications (Power Electronics)

What you will do

• Provide technical and organizational leadership for the High Power Solutions subject-matter expert organization.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a geographically distributed team of technical experts while setting priorities and execution plans.
• Support customers, field sales, applications engineering, and business development with system-level guidance and technical escalation management.
• Drive design wins and advise on system architectures, power topologies, component selection, and high-power conversion systems.
• Develop evaluation boards, demonstration platforms, reference designs, application notes, white papers, presentations, and training materials.
• Gather customer and market feedback, support product introductions and validation, and influence product and technology roadmaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 12.5 years of experience in Applications Engineering, Field Applications Engineering, Power Electronics Design, System Architecture, or related disciplines.
• Strong experience with high-voltage and high-power semiconductor technologies, including Silicon Carbide, IGBTs, and power modules.
• Expertise in high-power conversion systems, system architecture, power topology selection, component integration, PCB design tools, and circuit- or system-level simulation.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and test methodologies, with the ability to analyze and interpret results.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams and mentoring engineers, with strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with wide-bandgap technologies, digital control systems, digital signal controllers, or embedded power control architectures.
• Experience with PLECS, MATLAB, SPICE, or similar circuit simulation tools.
• Experience leading technical teams or managing engineers in globally distributed organizations.
