Propulsion Technician (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Prepare materials and perform propellant mixing, casting, curing, machining, and solid rocket motor component assembly.
• Support energetics research and development, including formulation work and sample preparation.
• Requisition, organize, weigh, mill, and process chemical components for propellant mixes.
• Disassemble, clean, maintain, and reassemble mixing and milling equipment.
• Support test flights, prototype energetic article final assembly, missile system assembly, and new production initiatives.
• Maintain clean work areas and follow preventative maintenance schedules, safety procedures, and production requirements.

Requirements

• U.S. person status or authorization required under ITAR regulations, including U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain required authorization.
• At least two years of relevant experience in chemical, aerospace development, or aerospace manufacturing environments.
• Experience working with hazardous chemicals beyond standard solvents and cleaners.
• Safety-oriented mindset, attention to detail, situational awareness, and strict compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, work from elevated platforms, climb ladders, and repeatedly transport 35 pounds.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a state explosives permit, with employer sponsorship; medical clearance to wear a respirator and operate powered industrial vehicles is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in energetics manufacturing or processing.
• Experience running automated equipment in a highly controlled environment.
• Ability to operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes using Fanuc, Siemens, or Haas controls.
• Experience developing or modifying CNC programs with CAM software and G-code.
• Experience with process documentation and development.
