Data / Application Engineer

Location: Hybrid at the Air National Guard Readiness Center, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland; up to three telework days per week. Remote work may be authorized by the Government on an exception basis, and occasional travel may be required. An active SECRET security clearance is required.

Salary: $129,000–$179,000 annually

What you will do

• Maintain and enhance ANG CDAO enterprise applications across requirements, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Support the ANGRC HR Management Tool, Flying Hour Tool, Commander’s Hub, ANG Kneeboard, and other approved applications.
• Build and maintain integrations with data pipelines, data warehouses and lakes, APIs, Power Platform components, Palantir, and cloud data services.
• Translate approved requirements into technical designs, application features, interfaces, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform unit, integration, regression, and performance testing; support Government UAT and resolve critical or high-severity defects.
• Monitor application health, troubleshoot incidents, maintain deployment assets and documentation, and provide technical support to ANG stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience developing and sustaining enterprise applications through requirements, design, build, integration, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Experience integrating applications with relational or analytical data stores, APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud services.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Microsoft Power Platform, or comparable enterprise application frameworks.
• Experience with source control, CI/CD, automated testing, defect tracking, release management, and production troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of secure software development, data protection, identity and access controls, and regulated enterprise environments.
• Active SECRET security clearance and compliance with DoD/DAF security, cybersecurity-awareness, CUI, OPSEC, and access-training requirements.

Nice to have

• Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Azure Databricks, Palantir Foundry, Microsoft Azure, or Advana/WDP experience.
• Familiarity with Air Force or Air National Guard HR, financial, readiness, logistics, or operational systems and data.
