AI Harness Engineer (AI Security)

Location: US Eastern States, US Mid West and Central States, or US Western States

Salary: $197,000–$230,000 per year, plus bonus and RSUs.

What you will do

• Design and build secure AI infrastructure for production AI agents.
• Develop Agent Control Plane capabilities to manage, monitor, and secure agent execution.
• Build embedded controls, security mechanisms, reusable services, APIs, and developer tooling for AI applications.
• Integrate modern Agent SDKs and Model Context Protocol (MCP), including public-facing CLI tools.
• Design Python and AWS backend microservices and build observability through telemetry, monitoring, and tracing.
• Own projects from architecture through deployment while partnering with AI researchers, product, sales, executive stakeholders, and senior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Experience building AI Harnesses and working with Harness and AI Security is required.
• Excellent Python development experience and experience with backend services, microservice architectures, AWS, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience building AI applications, AI agents, or agentic workflows and working with Agent SDKs.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and experience building developer tools, APIs, or CLI applications.
• Strong software architecture and production engineering skills, with the ability to independently drive projects from concept through production.

Nice to have

• Experience building Agent Control Planes, AI observability platforms, or secure AI systems.
• Experience implementing embedded controls or policy enforcement within AI agents.
• Security or infrastructure engineering background.
• Experience with production LLMs, Kubernetes, containerized services, and cloud-integrated AI systems.
• Familiarity with AI governance, guardrails, and runtime security.
