UAS Field Operations Lead (Defense)

Location: Must be based in Huntington Beach, CA (On-site)

Compensation: $40 – $50 per hour plus equity

What you will do

• Own fleet readiness, maintenance systems, and configuration control for assigned UAS platforms.
• Lead field operations execution, including pre- and post-operations reviews and mission planning.
• Serve as the primary interface between operations, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Manage technical documentation, maintenance logs, and SOPs to ensure standardized execution.
• Lead and develop field drone technicians to maintain high operational accountability.
• Support domestic and international field exercises and logistics readiness.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify)
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance
• Minimum 5+ years of experience with autonomous systems field operations.
• Proficiency with mission planning software (QGroundControl or Mission Planner) and Ardupilot or PX4.
• Experience in international field operations and logistics.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Nice to have

• Background in aircraft maintenance, aviation systems, or military/defense operations.
• Experience with data analysis and failure trend identification.
• Proven leadership experience in supervising field operations teams.
