Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote; hybrid work is available for candidates based in New York City or Toronto. Candidates must be comfortable working with colleagues across different time zones, including the UK, and must have valid travel documents without work authorization restrictions in the US.

What you will do

• Design and operate shared platform primitives for authorization, routing, secure logging, rollout controls, observability, queues, and centralized LLM access.
• Build CI/CD gates, progressive delivery, rollback automation, migration safety patterns, and kill switches to make production changes safer.
• Implement platform-level security guardrails, policy enforcement, auditability, and data-access controls.
• Develop global delivery controls, including region pinning, residency-aware behavior, routing, and cross-region configuration consistency.
• Establish SLOs, synthetic checks, alerting standards, incident runbooks, and operational drills.
• Build internal developer-platform templates and AI-native issue-to-PR automation with human approval workflows and audit logs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, distributed systems, infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE roles.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, progressive delivery, rollback and migration safety, observability, SLOs, and incident response.
• Experience developing and operating cloud services in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of authorization, auditability, data-access controls, policy enforcement, privacy, and data residency.
• Valid travel documents and no work authorization restrictions in the US; availability to collaborate across UK time zones.
