Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in Los Angeles, California; headquarters in El Segundo, United States

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity

hirify.global develops the ION Factory OS to accelerate the development and manufacturing of next-generation hardware, including spacecraft, electric aircraft, autonomous vehicles, nuclear reactors, and robots.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of production-ready AI systems within the ION Factory OS.
• Build and ship customer-facing AI and non-AI features that improve manufacturing workflows, including generative procedure creation, anomaly detection, and recommendations.
• Architect and maintain scalable software systems, AI/ML pipelines, and cloud-native product infrastructure.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation pipelines and use Model Context Protocol or similar frameworks to connect AI models with data sources and external tools.
• Collaborate with product managers, customers, and data engineers to translate manufacturing challenges into robust software solutions.
• Ensure production reliability, scalability, and maintainability using CI/CD workflows, while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years shipping AI/ML-powered products to production.
• Proven experience building customer-facing applications and delivering measurable business value.
• Experience architecting scalable systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Expertise in data modeling, preprocessing, model evaluation, APIs, and modern software design patterns for SaaS products.
• Experience with generative AI models, including LLMs, diffusion models, or GANs, and their practical applications.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; hirify.global participates in E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time, low-latency, or edge AI deployments.
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and compliance standards such as SOC2, GDPR, or ITAR.
• Hands-on RAG or MCP experience, customer-facing requirements gathering, open-source contributions, or applied AI/ML research.
• Experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering practices.
