Software Engineering Team Lead (Control Systems)

Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States; in-office role with 10% travel

Salary: $136,400–$187,500 per year; bonus eligible

What you will do

• Coach and empower an engineering team while building collaborative relationships across cross-functional groups.
• Establish team-level strategies for complex positioning, control algorithm, and system component design challenges.
• Drive the full software development lifecycle for new product introductions, meeting quality, cost, and time-to-market targets.
• Guide conceptual design, data analysis, requirements management, and failure resolution.
• Collaborate with business leaders, suppliers, and stakeholders to advance field systems technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in software or systems engineering roles.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycles and product development processes.
• Strong project management, organizational, and technical problem-solving capabilities.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with New Product Introduction workflows.
• Technical background in Control and State Estimation Theory.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and facilitating engineering team development.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills across cross-functional teams.
