Engineering Manager, Advanced Products (Sensing)

Salary: $91,740–$170,500 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

The role supports Gems Setra, a supplier of sensing and monitoring technologies including liquid level, flow, pressure, humidity, current, vacuum, and energy measurement solutions.

What you will do

• Lead advanced product development from market or customer opportunity through concept design freeze and transition to Product Realization.
• Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of electrical and mechanical engineers, developing senior and principal engineers into independent technical owners.
• Guide sensing, electronic, electromechanical, instrumentation, and measurement product development.
• Drive requirements development, system architecture, analysis, experimentation, prototyping, testing, and early validation to reduce technical risk.
• Shape technology roadmaps, product architectures, reusable platforms, and capability-development or acquisition plans.
• Partner with Product Management and external customers, suppliers, universities, and technology partners to connect market needs with feasible technical solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive experience developing electronic, electromechanical, sensing, instrumentation, or similarly complex products.
• Strong electrical engineering foundation with enough multidisciplinary breadth to lead experienced electrical and mechanical engineers.
• Experience taking products from early requirements and concept development through design, validation, and execution.
• Experience reducing technical uncertainty through analysis, experimentation, prototyping, testing, and structured engineering problem solving.
• Experience with technical leadership, mentoring, coaching, design reviews, or team leadership; prior formal people-management experience is not required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering.
• Experience with sensor, instrumentation, embedded electronics, measurement, or controls technologies.
• Exposure to technology roadmapping, product architecture, platform development, or external technology partnerships.
• Familiarity with electrical and mechanical engineering design environments, including Altium and SolidWorks.
