Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (SatDevOps)

Location: Hybrid work in Golden, Colorado or San Francisco, California. Relocation assistance may be available.

Salary: $180,000–$240,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure in a hybrid cloud environment.
• Collaborate with developers and satellite operators to build a SatDevOps culture supporting software and spacecraft operations.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, and deployment workflows.
• Improve developer experience through better tools, workflows, and environments.
• Own and evolve observability systems covering metrics, tracing, and logs.
• Investigate reliability issues, perform root cause analysis, implement long-term fixes, and operate Software Defined Networking solutions.

Requirements

• Strong experience with public cloud infrastructure, ideally GCP.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, deployment, operations, and resource optimization.
• Experience designing scalable, highly available systems and working with Software Defined Networking.
• Hands-on experience with observability stacks such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language: Go, Python, Rust, C/C++, or Java.
• Deep understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automation, plus strong independent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitOps frameworks such as ArgoCD or FluxCD.
• Interest or experience in FinOps and cost-optimized architectures.
• Experience with resource-constrained orchestration, systems engineering tools, SDLC governance, or security practices.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
