Core Network Lead (MVNO)

Location: Remote, open to candidates across supported locations in Europe, including the United Kingdom and Spain.

Salary: UK £89,600–£128,800; Ireland €76,800–€110,400; Western & Southern Europe €50,800–€116,117; Central, Eastern Europe & Caucasus €53,851–€88,291.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and manage approximately five engineers and QA specialists across concurrent global rollout streams.
• Architect, integrate, test, and commission Full MVNO capabilities and host MNO integrations.
• Own Full MVNO core components from HSS/HLR and packet core through signalling routing and messaging platforms.
• Direct implementation and troubleshooting across Diameter, SS7, SIP, voice, VoLTE, data, SMS, and international interconnects.
• Design mobile number portability routing and ensure compliance with market-specific regulations, lawful interception, and emergency service routing.
• Partner with QA on integration, stress, and acceptance testing, then lead Operational Readiness Reviews and documented handovers to the 24/7 Run team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in mobile core networks.
• 2+ years leading engineers and/or QA specialists in an agile or delivery-focused environment.
• Strong knowledge of packet core and voice core, including HSS/HLR, policy and charging, VoLTE, and legacy circuit-switched voice.
• Expertise with Diameter, SS7, and SIP signalling.
• Experience with messaging architecture and SMS routing, including interworking with other operators.
• Strong delivery, communication, documentation, and technical handover skills across multiple concurrent rollout streams.
• Comfort communicating in English in meetings and asynchronously.

Nice to have

• Automation experience with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, or automated signalling test frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with MVNO vendors including Nokia, Ericsson, Mavenir, Oracle Communications, Cisco, Summa Networks, NetNumber, or XIUS.
• Experience with cloud-native or virtualised network functions on AWS, Azure, GCP, or private cloud.
• Degree in telecommunications engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
