Computational Biologist (Spatiotemporal Multi-Omics)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid role requiring onsite work at least 60% of the working month, approximately 3 days per week

Salary: $130,000–$163,000 annual base pay, plus potential discretionary annual performance bonus

What you will do

• Develop data analysis workflows for spatiotemporal and multi-omics datasets.
• Build visualization tools for exploring and interpreting complex biological data across space and time.
• Integrate proteomics, metabolomics, and related datasets.
• Explore machine learning and transfer learning approaches for biological discovery.
• Collaborate with experimental scientists and communicate findings through publications, presentations, and open-source software.

Requirements

• PhD in bioinformatics, computer science, statistics, computational biology, biomedical engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience developing bioinformatic methods, analysis pipelines, or software tools for biological data.
• At least 1 year of experience in spatial data analysis, multi-omics integration, or machine learning for biological applications.
• Strong research productivity through publications, open-source contributions, or both.
• Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills, with enthusiasm for working with wet-lab teams.
• Ability to work onsite in Chicago approximately 3 days per week is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with imaging mass spectrometry, such as MALDI.
• Experience with single-cell proteomics or metabolomics.
• Experience building visualization tools or scientific software.
