Chief Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Hybrid work near Denver or Colorado Springs, Colorado; some work must be performed on site. The position is listed in Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA.

Base salary: $210,000–$355,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Serve as the top technical authority for the host vehicle and lead technical execution of a next-generation missile defense program.
• Own engineering performance, risk management, vehicle architecture, requirements, and system integration.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams through design, development, analysis, testing, and fielding.
• Drive technical readiness reviews, design reviews, technical baseline management, and design assurance.
• Coordinate engineering work across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience delivering a major aerospace subsystem or vehicle from concept through delivery or fielding.
• Strong systems engineering background covering requirements, verification, trade studies, interface control, and failure analysis.
• Experience balancing technical rigor with schedule and program realities.
• Ability to lead cross-functional technical teams across hardware and software boundaries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance are required. ITAR eligibility is also required.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
• Experience with missile defense or space vehicle programs.
• TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and managing design-to-delivery cycles.
