Product Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States, working in the CT/ET time zone. The role collaborates with teams on the West Coast and in Europe and is connected to the Chicago hub.

Salary: $130,000–$190,000 per year, with location-dependent compensation and negotiation flexibility.

What you will do

• Build and improve the platform that helps schools fill short-term and long-term staffing needs.
• Develop product features across Ruby on Rails, React, and React Native applications.
• Shape ambiguous problems with Product, Operations, and Design partners, then ship iterative solutions.
• Design granular permissions, audit logging, and administrative interfaces.
• Improve analytics instrumentation, developer experience, application upgrades, and production security.
• Take ownership of problems end to end and help grow the US engineering team.

Requirements

• Ability to work remotely from the United States in the CT/ET time zone.
• Strong product thinking, curiosity, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving.
• Ability to build relationships quickly and collaborate effectively in a distributed, asynchronous environment.
• Ability to take ownership of problems, communicate clearly, and work across different parts of the business.
• Experience or interest in building product features with Ruby on Rails, React, and React Native.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-powered product capabilities, matching systems, or AI-assisted development.
• Experience with analytics instrumentation, developer experience metrics, security improvements, or permissions systems.
