Care Specialist (Substance Use Care)

Location: Remote, based anywhere in the USA

Salary: $59,000–$62,000 USD per year, plus eligible incentive compensation, stock options, and benefits.

What you will do

• Serve as the first clinical point of contact and create a supportive onboarding experience.
• Conduct intake assessments, initial screenings, welcome calls, and early member touchpoints.
• Explain care pathways and connect members with counselors or coaches through warm transitions.
• Maintain a small caseload, provide individual counseling, and offer temporary coverage when needed.
• Use CBT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based interventions, harm reduction, and relapse prevention approaches.
• Document care, support pilot programs and quality improvement, and collaborate with Product, Clinical, and Operations teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of clinical experience working with individuals with substance use disorders.
• Expertise in CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and relapse prevention.
• Active, unrestricted state licensure or certification in good standing; credentialing recognized by IC&RC or NAADAC is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Strong communication, organization, documentation, and technology skills.
• Reliable home office with 50–100 Mbps internet and a confidential workspace.

Nice to have

• Multi-state licensure.
• SBIRT experience with people with substance use disorders.
• Program development, clinical quality assurance, research, data analysis, or program evaluation experience.
