AI Platform Engineer

Location: New York, United States; in-person, five days per week

Salary: $150,000–$300,000 annual base salary, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable backend systems supporting AI agents and observability tools.
• Build high-performance APIs connecting backend systems with frontend interfaces.
• Architect distributed systems for real-time workloads over petabytes of heterogeneous telemetry data.
• Build live evaluation pipelines, automated scoring systems, and benchmarks for measuring AI performance.
• Collaborate with AI engineers and scientists to integrate AI-driven capabilities into backend systems.
• Monitor, optimize, and scale services for high data volumes and low-latency performance.

Requirements

• Strong system design skills for distributed systems.
• Production-scale software engineering experience.
• Experience with LLM-based applications or multi-agent systems.
• Strong data modeling skills and experience writing clean, maintainable code.
• Ability to collaborate across research and engineering teams.
• Ability to work in person in New York five days per week.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of software incidents and production SRE workflows.
• Experience with AI benchmarking, evaluation systems, quantitative scoring, or benchmarks.
• Familiarity with observability stacks, including logs, metrics, traces, and telemetry systems.
• Background in agentic architectures, orchestration frameworks, or applied AI research.
