Product Applications Engineer (Laser Anneal)

Location: Yokkaichi, Japan; travel to the USA and within the Asia region required approximately 30% of the time.

What you will do

• Develop laser-anneal applications and process performance in close collaboration with customers, including laser learning and demonstrations.
• Develop and maintain best-known methods for process control, process development, and continuous improvement, and drive adoption of new applications.
• Maintain working knowledge of laser-anneal system processes, hardware, and diagnostics; plan and implement measures to improve system performance.
• Solve process problems and coordinate with service and engineering teams when additional support is required.
• Present product technology to customers and sales channels, train team members, customers, and partners, and instruct customers in system operation and maintenance.
• Collaborate with service, sales, manufacturing, supply chain, and product-line teams across the Asia Pacific region; check and approve equipment operational quality.

Requirements

• BS degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering with at least 8 years of related experience.
• Ability to travel to the USA and within the Asia region approximately 30% of the time.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor devices and module processes.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills; self-motivated approach.
• Clear spoken and written communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• MS degree with 5 years of related experience or PhD degree with 3 years of related experience.
• Process integration experience in logic and/or memory fabrication.
• Understanding of Rapid Thermal Processing (RTP) and implant processes.
• Customer management experience.
• Business-level Japanese language skills.
