Platform Engineer (Quantum Computing)

Location: Boulder, Colorado, United States; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the office required

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 base salary per year, plus annual bonus and equity

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain infrastructure supporting quantum control systems, including GPU compute, networking, and storage.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code, deployment automation, and system observability.
• Build and operate infrastructure across on-premises laboratory environments and cloud platforms.
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, root-cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
• Contribute to designs for developer tools and compute infrastructure.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and control systems teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science.
• Internship or professional experience as an infrastructure, platform, or systems engineer.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, or similar.
• Interest in containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with hybrid environments using on-premises hardware and cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of networking and Linux fundamentals.
