What you will do
- Plan and execute system functional tests in the Iron Bird test environment, review results, and prepare detailed reports.
- Support system requirements development and assess requirements to define test equipment categories, methods, and procedures.
- Define and analyze system interfaces, create interface control documentation, and facilitate hardware/software integration.
- Support aircraft-level testing, flight control system integration, and the development of electric aircraft systems.
- Manage problem reports and track issues identified during testing and verification.
- Prepare technical meeting materials and documentation supporting aircraft certification.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software, Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 1–2 years of experience in an aerospace systems development lifecycle.
- Excellent report-writing skills, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
- Ability to use standard laboratory probing and troubleshooting test equipment.
- Position location: Raleigh, North Carolina, United States.
Nice to have
- Experience with MATLAB and Simulink, inertial sensing, communication protocols, or wireless communications.
- Experience with flight controls, autonomous systems, flight testing, or system-level Iron Bird and laboratory testing.
- Hardware verification experience using DO-160, MIL-STD-810, or MIL-STD-461.
- Experience building system test setups and using Git or other configuration management practices.
- Advanced degree, pilot’s license, or experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Word.
