TL;DR
Senior Technical Specialist, Multi-Body Dynamics Simulation (Automotive): Developing and validating high-fidelity rigid and flexible multibody vehicle models for virtual proving ground, load cascade, durability, and vehicle dynamics analysis with an accent on tire and road modeling, co-simulation, and correlation with physical test data. Focus on optimizing chassis and suspension performance, predicting structural damage through FEA, automating simulation workflows, and validating complex vehicle responses.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, company events, and occasional travel are required.

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

Company

hirify.global is developing electrified and digitally enabled pickup trucks and rugged SUVs, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.

What you will do

  • Develop and validate high-fidelity rigid and flexible multibody dynamics models, including FEA flexible bodies for vibration and nonlinear component behavior.
  • Run full-vehicle virtual proving ground simulations using digitized road surfaces, road profiles, and advanced tire models such as F-Tire, CD-Tire, and MF-Swift.
  • Generate and cascade loads across chassis, suspension, vehicle, joints, bushings, mounts, and components.
  • Perform structural damage prediction, fatigue analysis, and durability assessments using FEA software.
  • Optimize chassis, suspension, steering kinematics, and powertrain components for ride, handling, stability, durability, and weight targets.
  • Build co-simulation workflows, correlate virtual results with physical RLDA data, automate analysis, and communicate findings through technical reports and presentations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree with equivalent exceptional experience.
  • At least eight years of automotive multibody simulation experience with demonstrated CAE and vehicle dynamics results.
  • Advanced proficiency with MSC Adams, Simpack, or MotionSolve.
  • Experience with high-fidelity tire modeling, road-profile digitization, structural analysis, fatigue, durability, vibration theory, and vehicle dynamics.
  • Proficiency in Python or MATLAB/Simulink for simulation automation, co-simulation, and data post-processing.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Culture & Benefits

  • Opportunity to build new vehicles and a company around an iconic automotive brand.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and income protection insurance plans.
  • 401(k) with employer match and immediate vesting.
  • 20 days of planned PTO, 40 hours of unplanned PTO, and 14 company or floating holidays annually.
  • Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave, plus paid bereavement, jury duty, voting, and military leave.
