Flight Dynamics Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Conduct flight-dynamics analyses and simulations for aerospace-system design, development, and testing.
• Develop mathematical models and algorithms for aircraft dynamics, subsystem dynamics, and vehicle-control systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate flight-dynamics solutions into system designs.
• Drive integrated testing with the Test & Operations team from initial build through flight.
• Analyze flight data to validate models and assess aircraft performance.

Requirements

• Background in atmospheric flight dynamics, controls, and hydraulic actuation systems analysis.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, analysis, visualization, and simulation.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for dynamic-system modeling and control design.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical information and support decisions in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of FAA and Department of Defense aerospace standards for loads, flying qualities, and control-system specifications.
