Director, Premium Audit (Workers' Compensation Insurance)

Location: Remote within the United States; territories excluded. Remote employees must have reliable, high-speed internet.

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 USD annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead the transformation of the Premium Audit department and implement the new Premium Audit Playbook.
• Develop functional strategies aligned with organizational objectives and collaborate with Underwriting, Product, Technology, and Business Development.
• Manage premium audit operations across platforms, ensuring regulatory compliance, quality, accuracy, customer satisfaction, and productivity.
• Oversee organizational design, succession planning, budgets, staffing models, technology investments, and external vendor partnerships.
• Use audit data and analytics to identify trends, improve processes, and support business decisions.
• Coach managers and senior leaders while building training programs, career pathways, and a continuous-improvement culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience in premium audit, insurance operations, or a related industry.
• 8+ years of Workers' Compensation experience.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing and scaling large, complex organizations.
• Authority-level knowledge of premium audit principles, NCCI systems, state bureau requirements, and multi-jurisdictional regulatory compliance.
• Advanced communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, analytics, process improvement, and financial management skills.

Nice to have

• Professional designation such as CPCU, ARe, FLMI, or equivalent.
• Advanced experience with data analytics tools and process automation platforms.
