Director, Insurance and Enterprise Risk Management

Salary: $184,368–$245,824 per year; the posted range is specific to Washington State.

What you will do

• Manage corporate and project-specific insurance programs, including property and casualty, financial and professional liability, builder’s risk, OCIP/CCIP, and other specialty coverage.
• Manage the surety program, broker relationships, insurance placements, coverage negotiations, certificates, policy reviews, and claims administration.
• Provide expertise on US and international nuclear liability frameworks, nuclear insurance policies, and US nuclear licensing requirements.
• Partner with engineering, EHS, legal, procurement, contracts, finance, internal audit, quality assurance, and IT teams to reduce risk and improve insurance processes.
• Manage the ERM taxonomy and governance, oversee annual enterprise risk assessments, and refine risk appetite and tolerances.
• Prepare executive ERM reports for the ERMC Committee and Board Audit Committee, and deliver training on insurance and risk management practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of relevant insurance experience, with strong general liability experience preferred; at least 3 years as a corporate risk manager is preferred.
• Experience in nuclear energy, nuclear pharmacy, construction, utilities, or insurance brokerage is required.
• Expert knowledge of commercial insurance, enterprise risk management, risk mitigation, complex claims, construction insurance policies, and contract insurance provisions.
• Strong data analysis, reporting, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Applicants may need to provide US citizenship or national status, asylee or refugee status, or lawful permanent resident status for US Government export-control review.

Nice to have

• Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), CPCU, CRIS, or a similar certification.
