Controls Engineer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Chandler, Arizona, United States; onsite at the Chandler manufacturing facility. U.S. citizenship is required due to U.S. Government contractual requirements.

Salary: $83,400–$155,000 per year

What you will do

• Design electrical control systems, machine controls, automation architectures, schematics, panel layouts, and control documentation.
• Build and integrate electrical control panels, automation hardware, electronics, sensors, vision systems, and test equipment.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs for manufacturing and test equipment.
• Support machine builds, installation, startup, validation, commissioning, and long-term equipment support.
• Design automated test solutions and configure SCADA systems, including Ignition, for monitoring and data collection.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve root causes and improve reliability and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent controls engineering experience.
• 5+ years of automation, controls engineering, or industrial controls experience.
• Experience designing electrical control systems, schematics, and control panels.
• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, including industrial HMI platforms.
• Experience with machine builds, commissioning, startup activities, test automation, and root-cause analysis.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to work onsite in Chandler, Arizona.

Nice to have

• Experience with Productivity PLCs, C-More HMIs, Ignition SCADA, Cognex vision systems, or National Instruments Measurement Studio.
• Process control engineering, electronics integration, PCB, or embedded electronics experience.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or industrial automation.
